Description: I’m very excited to offer for your consideration this absolutely STUNNING 1940’s low, flush mount foyer pendant! This fixture is absolutely dripping in dazzling 40’s Hollywood Regency style and is of excellent quality. The original tag is mostly worn away from the back side of the canopy, rendering an ID on this impossible, though I suspect Virden or possibly Lightolier as potential makers. The polished brass finish is in excellent vintage condition, and has been retouched a bit, but still shows signs of age, being an 80 year old fixture. This piece is entirely original save the mounting hardware - a remarkable feat, considering that it is nearly 100 years old! I did replace the wiring with new though, to be on the safe side. The distinctive ribbed glass shade, molded into a melon pattern, throws amazing light. It’s a very heavy, stunning piece of glass, free of chips or flaws. A graceful filigree band encircles the perimeter, adding just the right amount of elegance to an already beautiful fixture, also enabling the piece to cast impressive shadows and patterns onto the ceiling. Lit or unlit, this is an absolutely stunning fixture. I particularly enjoy the three pronged shade support rods, and how they nestle neatly between the ribs of the shade - what a clever design! This scale of this fixture is ideal for almost any smaller room or transitional space, measuring about 8.5 - inches to the bottom of the finial, and about 6 - inches around at the canopy.
