Vintage Leeds & Northrup Potentiometer Coil Scientific Part Brass Base

Description: PLEASE VIEW ALL PICTURES AND READ DESCRIPTION BEFORE COMMITTING TO BUY or EMAILING ME WITH QUESTIONS:Offered is what I believe to be a vintage Potentiometer Coil Assembly (Cat. No. CLN-631570) manufactured by Leeds & Northrup (Philidelphia, Pennsylvania, USA). The base appears to be cast brass with a black anodize coating. The gears also appear to be brass (cast & stamped). I haven't a clue as to what this was used on. Please note that the rectangular glass appears to have some very fine cracks similar to porcelain crazing (see last 2 photos). They are almost invisible when looking straight and hard to see except from an angle.Please understand that I am not an electronics technician nor test equipment expert. I am simply trying to describe this item as best I can. Sorry about the shipping charge but it's fairly heavy (13+ lbs.).
