THE CLOCK AND WATCH STORE Click images to enlarge Description Maker: Le Phare Watch Company c.1950's - early 1960's Model: 3 Register Chronograph ref.4251 Description: This is a vintage men's Le Phare chronograph wristwatch sold by J.B. Hudson and comes in a gold plated Spillman case for restoration. It has an amazing dial and handset that are original and not refinished. The movement is one of the brightest examples from this period I have ever seen and it's obvious, the watch was taken care of. It has a hand winding 17 jewel Venus 178 triple register complicated movement that is currently running and keeping time however, it is being sold as a non-running movement. The chronograph buttons are sticky and I can get the chronograph to function manually but not with the buttons as it is in need of service. The movement alone is worth opening bid. The case is signed plaque 20 gold filled with a stainless steel back. There is wear through to the gold plating at the lugs, crown and pushers and the rest of the case has darkened oxidization from not being polished in quite sometime. The pusher buttons will need replaced as will the crown. The strap is a brown leather strap with silver buckle and came with the watch when I purchaed it. I have been on a buying spree and some unexpected events popped up, causing me to do a catch and release on some fine watches I was hoping to restore over the next few years.
