Description: This is an original 1961 Brownette Ken doll who stands tall (just shy of 12 inches) and in the wide stance. He has/ had brown flocked hair, though most of it has thinned down to the base (see up close photos of his hair.) When I had taken him out of the box, the flocking dust was sprinkled where it had fallen onto his face as it deteriorated over time. I blew it off, but will leave it up to the buyer to clean his face. This original Ken has “Japan” on the bottom of his right foot, “5” on his left and “Ken TM PATS PEND ©️MCMXL BY MATTEL INC” on his right side rear end. He is in good condition without cuts, scratches, scrapes, ink marks, etc. All of his toes fingers, ears, nose, etc. are fully intact. The arms and legs joints are also in good condition, though the right arm is slightly loser than the left when hanging straight down at his side. He is posable with his arms down, up or in between,his legs straight or bent at the hips in a sitting position, and his head easily turns in both directions. This blue-eyed Ken comes dressed in his dreamboat outfit (shirt, dress jacket, pants, socks & shoes), with two other outfits that have been kept in plastic over these years. One is a University sweater outfit in blue, red, gray and white stripes with white pants, red socks, and a state pennant pom-pom. The other is a jacket outfit that is white with brown trim (reminds me of a vintage “members only” jacket) and has two pairs of pants (very light tan, medium brown), and a yellow shirt. The items have been kept in plastic and are in excellent condition with their tags also intact which read “Ken TM by Mattel”. He also comes with his wire stand, though it wasn’t needed in his photos since he could stand without it. The original box was misplaced and is not included.
