Description: This is a vintage impasto oil painting on board of a fall forest landscape. Based on the frame, I would estimate it dates circa 1950s or 1960s. The frame measures 29 1/2 inches tall x 23 1/2 inches wide (74.9 cm x 59.7 cm). The painting measures 24 inches tall x 18 inches wide (61 cm x 45.7 cm). The first thing I noticed about this was the waterfall. It immediately gave the painting a very serene feeling. The colors in it are rich and vibrant. Impasto paintings are made by either applying thick brush strokes or with a palette knife. They have a beautiful dimensional look about them as a result. The painting is in very good condition, with just the lightest of wear. The frame, which I believe is wormy chestnut given the many wormholes, has scattered scuff marks, dings, scratches and general wear to the surface. I believe the painting is signed in the bottom right corner, but it is just too difficult to make it out. I have taken a close-up photo of the signature. It weighs 4 lbs. 15 oz. (2.238 kg).
