Description: Vintage Hummel Figurine “HOME FROM MARKET” HUM# 198/2/0 By W. Goebel TMK-4Description: Home From MarketProduced by: © W. GoebelDesigned by: M.I. HummelTMK-4 BackStamp: 1964-1972Western GermanyHum# 198/2/0Height: 4.75 inches This sweet little Hummel figurine has been collector kept for many years and is in good condition… However there is some crazing on the underside of base and most notably, the tip of the pig’s left ear is broken off… easy fix and I have adjusted the price accordingly. Please see all detailed photos. History of Hummel Figurines: Conceived by Sister Maria Innocentia Hummel, a prolific German artist and Franciscan nun. The first figurines were produced by Franz Goebel in 1935. Except for a few short breaks during World War II and in the early 2000s, the figurines have been in continuous production, breathing life into hundreds of M.l. Hummel's drawings. Between 1964 and 1972, another variation was used. Still incorporating the stylized bee but adding three lines of text. This marking is sometimes called the Three Line Mark and is TMK-4.
