Description: For sale here is my vintage HOFNER VERYTHIN electric guitar. This guitar is in incredible condition, perfect working order, and all of the parts are original. A real beauty built in Hageneau, West Germany in 1963 (or possibly 1964). Recently set up by an expert luthier, it plays great, with its original amazing Hofner tremelo, zero-fret, original tuners and it stays in tune nicely. The thinnest hollowbody ever built and extremely lightweight, but it has an incredibly fat, deep sound. Even not plugged in, this guitar is loud! It is a true hollow body, not a semi-hollow body, and the tone reflects this. Very hot original pickups with a smooth vintage sound you can only get from an instrument like this. I've used it on stage and in the studio and it really perfoms. I love this guitar, but it has been sitting in the case for far too long without being played, and I need it to "spark joy" for you! Plus, I need the money ;) The only flaws are a missing sticker on one of the tone knobs, and a small plastic portion of the knob on the end of the tremelo bar is broken off. There is some cracking in the finish of the body and headstock but it is light and only cosmetic - very typical for vintage European built instruments of this age. It comes with a non-vintage Hofner case specifically designed for their Verythin Contemporary Player reissues, so the guitar fits it perfectly. One of the latches on the case is broken, but it still seals up perfectly. Please feel free to ask any questions, and good luck! See my other auctions for more music related goodies
