VINTAGE H.N. WHITE CO. CLEVELAND ALTO SAXOPHONE - KING 613

Check out my other items!Be sure to add me to your favorites list!This listing is for a vintage "Cleveland" alto saxophone made by the H.N. White company. This was the second line offering of the White Co., the main line being "King". The serial number is C196207. I'm not exactly sure when it was made, but I'd guess 1950's or 60's. See the product in action. This horn has definitely seen a lot of use and has taken a few knocks in its day. It plays from top to bottom though, as you can hear in the demo video linked above. That is not to say that it is in optimum playing condition. Please read on for details of its condition. I strive to be as accurate as possible, but keep in mind this is an old horn, so I can't detail every minor imperfection. Please be sure to check out all of the pictures and read the description carefully. If in doubt, ask questions! The body of this horn looks straight, and the neck has not been pulled down. The mouthpiece receiver and neck tenon are round, as is the neck receiver on the body. The neck fits easily into the receiver but won't budge once the screw is tightened. There are a few dents on the side of the bow, as well as numerous minor pings and nicks. The bow guard curvature has not been distorted though. The rim of the bell has not been bent. I don't see any re-soldered joints. The keys are all moving freely and rebounding properly, but some of the rollers are not turning. The lacquer finish shows significant wear throughout. The pads are rivet-only style. They are definitely showing their age, but still sealing surprisingly well. That is not to say perfect...a leak light inspection reveals some small leaks...but better than I would have expected. There is a tear on the outer edge of the low B pad, but it doesn't reach the seat impression, so it is still sealing. The neck cork is well worn and has a little piece chipped out of it. This horn comes in its original case. The case is solid, but well worn. The latches still spring open, and the handle is intact. The interior is odor-free. There is no mouthpiece, nor any other accessories included, except for the original end plug. Please feel free to message me with any questions! Thanks again for looking!
