Description: Mueller Mosaic Company, Trenton, NJ 1908-1942 According to research done by Norman Karlson, Herman Mueller, a German-trained sculptor, was one of the most important modelers of the Arts & Crafts movement. He worked at American Encaustic but left the company in 1894 to establish its greatest competitor, Mosaic Tile Co. Before starting Mueller Mosaic, he worked at National Tile and Robertson Art Tile as head of the art department. Selling a vintage Mueller vent tile with matte tan glazing over a simple design. In great condition; has its original paper label on back. Measures 6" x 6" x 1" thick, never set.
