Description: VintageHenry Taylor England 45 "V" GougeVGC Fresh from a local estate sale. Marked H.TAYLOR ENGLAND and 45. I 'm unsure what the 45 refers to, but it's stamped twice on the metal. Measures about .2" across the widest part of the "V" and about 4.5" from cutting edge to the tang. The handle is in good shape with a scratch or two in the wood and a few scuffs on the ferrule. As for the condition of the metalwork, the black finish on the unfinished surfaces is a dark black coating of some sort. And the ground surfaces have like a Cosmoline on them. Also the cutting edge is flat and not sharp. And the length of the metal seems quite good. All this to say I think this chisel may be unused, but I can't be absolutely sure about that.
