Description: Vintage Helen Long Navajo Sterling Silver Rainbow Calsilica Ring Size 7.5 Signed. This lovely vintage Native American sterling silver ring was handmade by Navajo artisan Helen Long. An oval rainbow calsilica stone has been nestled into a hand carved sawtooth bezel setting and placed on a handcrafted platform made of sterling silver. A traditional sterling silver braided rope encircles the stone. The wide edge on each side of the ring has a precise deep etched design. All of this sits atop a hand sawed tri-split shank. The back of the ring has Helen Long's hallmark "HL" and is stamped STERLING. The stone measure 14.5mm long by 10.5mm wide. The ring is a size 7.5 and the band is 2.5mm wide. Helen Long is the Matriarch of a wonderful family of Navajo silversmiths. She was married to Jimmie Long, a well known Navajo jeweler. They are both deceased, but left a permanent mark on Native American jewelry. Helen was featured in Arizona Highways Magazine in the 1970s, showcasing her unique skillset. This magnificent vintage Helen Long Navajo sterling silver and rainbow calsilica ring is in very good condition, as shown in the photos. It appears to have been sized at some point during the past several decades but, if so, it was done perfectly and professionally.
