This book is the basis for the 1995 movie “Apollo 13” starring Tom Hanks, Kevin Bacon & Bill Paxton. It is signed (autographed) by Jim Lovell on a Houghton Mifflin bookplate affixed to the half title page. This book is a 10th printing of the 1st edition and shows a copyright date of 1994. It was published by Houghton Mifflin. The dust jacket has not been price clipped and still shows the original retail price of $ 22.95 on the inside front flap. Please note: There are faint “spots” showing in the photos, at least on my computer; these are from my camera and they are not on the book or the dust jacket. It is in very good to fine or near mint condition. It is near flawless as far as I can see. The only flaws that I see are some bumps to the cover at the top and bottom of the spine, a slight upward warp to the front of the cover, a small stain or paper flaw inside the back cover (under the dust jacket), some minor soiling to the bottom edge of the text block, and some light signs of use or wear to the corners and edges of the cover– see my photos. The book is not ex-library, not a book club edition, has not been price clipped or remainder marked. It is tightly bound, has no lean, no noticeable fading to the dust jacket and no offensive smell or odor. There are no tears to any pages. There are no markings, writings, underlining or stains of any kind inside or outside the book. The dust jacket has no tears or chips, just some extremely minor signs of shelf-wear and edge wear – see my photos. The dust jacket is protected in new Brodart clear polyester archival dust cover. It comes from a smoke & pet free home. Please keep in mind these photos may be blown up at least 8-10 times normal, so anything you see will look 8-10 times larger in the photos than it really is. Please note: if you see a dark spot in the photos, it is from my camera and is not a mark on the piece.
