Description: Handmade German 4-Tier Christmas Carousel Pyramid, 23 inches tall. Works beautifully, but German pyramids are not low maintenance toys. You need to understand the mechanism of the pyramid as well as be familiar with how wood reacts to different temperatures. Every year we pull out the pyramid for Christmas something new needs to be adjusted, because the wood has swollen or shrunk so the glass barring doesn't fit, or the rod was bend while the pyramid was in storage or the different plates have moved and aren't spinning correctly, etc. It's a job and unless you're crafty or good with woodwork, it may frustrate you. If on the other hand you enjoy fiddling with stuff, you'll love the Christmas pyramid. It will always be the most magical, traditional German Christmas decoration. As you can see in the last two photos, this pyramid has a Japanese music box attached, unfortunately we don't have the winding key for it.
