Description: Here is a rare ceramic Cake Plate distributed the Lifetime China Company of Alliance, Ohio. The center decoration has a pretty cluster of pine cones and pine needles in pink, silver, and black. Circling the rim and both side handles are bands of floral pattern metallic gold filigree. The base is an ivory or off-white with a glossy glaze. It measures 11" handle-to-handle with 1" high sides. It weighs 1 lb. 7 oz. Condition is very good with no chips, cracks or crazing. There are utensil marks, and a few faint spots. The backstamp in shiny gold reads "Lifetime China Co., Semi-Vitreous, Alliance Ohio, Pine Cone". The Lifetime China Co was not a manufacturer, but rather a distributor from 1953 to 1968. Most of the pieces they distributed were made by the Homer Laughlin China Co. with some being decorated by Lifetime. Thanks for looking.
