With a black surface coating and a rectangular shape, this pan is compatible with induction, electric, and gas stoves. The pan measures 8-1/2 inches in length, 4-1/8 inches in width, and 1/2 inches in height. The pan is perfect for making cornbread or wheat sticks. This rare pan is a great collectible vintage cookware from the Griswold brand.In the 1870s, Griswold began to manufacture skillets, pots, grinding mills and waffle irons. In 1873, the company was renamed Selden & Griswold Manufacturing Company. In 1883, Griswold began making tobacco cutters. In 1884, Matthew Griswold bought out the interests of the Selden family. The next year there was a fire, and the factory had to be rebuilt. In 1887, the company was reorganized and chartered as the Griswold Manufacturing Company. Over the years that followed the company added products such as kettles, Dutch ovens, roasters, a grid iron and other various pots and pans. Cast-iron stovetop waffle irons were one of the company's earliest and most successful products, manufactured into the 1930s.
