Description: Vintage Gold Over Sterling Book Locket Necklace . Hand Painted Man/Woman in the Moon on Mother of Pearl 14K Gold Filled Chain Star Charm A beautiful One of a Kind, hand painted mother of pearl, gold over sterling book locket. I hand painted on MOP, the man on the moon over water, with a stars. The painting is done in gouache, an ancient medium use to paint miniatures for hundreds of years. The painting has been sealed in resin for protection. The inside has two compartments to hold photos (no frames or cover are present). The Miniature painted Book Locket measures 1 by 3/4 of an inch and is stamped sterling on the back. The locket is suspended off a 16-1/2 inch gold filled chain with bar link drop, accented with a tiny pearl star Charm. This a beautiful OOAK piece is in good vintage condition with the exception of some pitting on the back of the locket (see photo) due to age.
