Description: Vintage Goebel M.I. Hummel "Eventide" Crown Mark TMK 1 RARE Eventide was originally produced in 1938. Description: Boy And Girl Sitting On Fence With Lambs, measures 5" X 5 1/8" Pattern: Eventide by Hummel Hummel Mold Number "99" (Solid Number) incised on underside of base. "M.I. Hummel" signature is incised on rear side of base. Has "👑" Crown Mark (TMK-1) incised on underside of base as well as the large bee above the V. The significance of having both marks mean it was made earlier than the date it was released because of WW2. The United States permitted Goebel to export figurines which had previously been prohibited for exportation after WW2, but they were still in production during WW2. TMK-1 The Full Crown was used from 1939-1949. When M.I. Hummel figurines were first made commercially available the mark shows a crown floating above the interlocked initials “WG”. The "WG" stands for William Goebel, the founder of the Goebel company. The crown mark is a reference to the imperial family of Germany. Status: Discontinued This Hummel is in excellent vintage condition with no chips, cracks, breaks or repairs. Please refer to the listing photos as they are included as part of the condition description. There is some residue on the bottom, looks like tape residue. From 1950 to 1955 the trademarks changed to designs incorporating a bee. These backstamps are TMK-2. These stamps are sometimes referred to as the Full Bee Mark by collectors.
