Description: THANKS FOR CHECKING OUT MY AUCTION. PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE DESCRIPTION AND MY POLICIES BEFORE PLACING YOUR BID. Check out my other items!Be sure to add me to your favorites list! This listing is for a vintage German style clarinet mouthpiece. There is no brand name, nor any other markings on it. I'm not 100% sure what size clarinet this was intended for. The shank is a bit smaller than any of the Bb clarinet mouthpieces I have handy, but it is about the same length as those same pieces. Overall, it looks longer/skinnier than a typical Bb piece, but maybe that is just down to differences in design when it was made. It is quite old; most likely pre-1900. It is 89mm in length, and the outer diameter of the shank is 20.7mm. This is a German style clarinet mouthpiece, with a ribbed body, to assist in securing the reed the old-fashioned way, with string. It is made of hard rubber. This mouthpiece is in decent condition, but I think it will require a refacing to be made playable. It appears to have already been refaced, and the tip rail was left quite wide. The tip opening is very small. It measures just .85mm (.034"). There are no nicks or gouges to the facing, and no tooth indentations on the beak. There are some scuffs on the exterior, and the rubber shows fading/discoloration as seen in the pictures. It will need to have a new cork installed as the present one is very worn/compressed. This mouthpiece has been cleaned/sanitized. Please feel free to email me with any questions. Thanks again for looking! 10/13/24/1-I
