Description: Vintage French Oil Painting, Auberge du Saumon, Restaurant, Landscape, Brittany, Signed “Benquet” This vintage French oil on board depicts the “Auberge du Saumon” in Châteauneuf-du-Faou, Brittany, built in 1890 at “Pont-Pol” on the banks of the Aulne and very well known as a restaurant and hotel during the 1920’s and 1930’s. It was demolished in 2010 following a fire. It is signed “C. Benquet” and stamped on the back with the name and address of the art supply dealer “Arc-en-Ciel” in Paris. Framed, this painting is in very good condition with the exception of signs of age and wear on the frame. Please refer to the detailed photos on this page.
