Description: Vintage Florence Ceramics 'Angel wings spread' figurine. - Hard to find angel figurine with blonde hair wearing white robes with subtle pink and blue tones. She has feathered wings which outstretch behind her with gold highlights. - Hand crafted circa the 1950s from semi-porcelain with extensive hand applied 22 karat gold detailing - Florence Ward (1898-1991) began taking art classes as a way of coping with the death of one of her sons in 1939. Encouraged by a professor, she began making ceramics out of her garage in 1942. Within seven years demand for her pieces was so strong Florence Ceramics was operating a large factory in Pasadena. The company produced a selection of home products but is best known for the Florence Collection - authentic, detailed reproductions of historical and fictional characters. - Marked 'Florence Ceramics Pasadena California' on base. - Good condition with no cracks or chips. There is a small dark mark on the top of one wing (see close up). Due to its position it is not that noticeable when displayed on a shelf. Measurements: 7 7/8" x 4 1/4" x 3 3/4"
