Description: This Empire style evening dress was worn just once for the opening of "La Scala Theatre" season, on the 7th of December 1969. That was a special night for Placido Domingo who made his debut there (in 2019 he celebrated his 50th year anniversary at La Scala with same opera). My dress was tailored made and the fabric was bought from a high fashion fabrics studio not opened to the general public. It was in Via Sant'Andrea, that with the adjacent Via Montenapoleone was and still is the Fashion Hub in Milano. I don't remember exactly wat type of fabric it is. I think it is a type of matelassé, made of fine cotton, lamé and maybe other components. On reverse side, the white rose is green. It is a heavy, tightly woven, beautiful fabric, nothing that could be bought nowadays, with a total weight of 1.130Kg. In 2022 I had it dry-cleaned, only after a test trial on a cut of fabric I still have. It is very hard for me to let this dress go and I sincerely hope that it would be bought by a music lover and be worn again in a similar occasion and be imbued with music once more. It certainly will be an exclusive dress in a time where unless you pay thousands and thousands of dollars, you can't be sure that yours is unique. Measurements are as follows: Under bust 30cm Bust circumference 60cm Shoulder to shoulder 37cm Total length 133cm Total hem circumference 210 cm Fold width 28 cm.
