Description: Vintage Renaissance Chess Set 4” King Felted Pieces E.S. Lowe Milton Bradley No. 831 Pre-owned with damage present – please see detailed condition description below. Game box dimensions: approx. 16.25” x 12.25” x 1.5” Condition: COMPLETE. Vintage, pre-owned and played-with chess set with visible signs of age-related wear and other damage present – box is in overall poor condition, all chess pieces are present but show heavy discoloration, game box and components have a vintage smell to them. The game box shows various signs of moisture damage such as ripples across smaller portions of the top lid. Significant corner and edge wear present, two corners are split with additional tears in the box lid edges elsewhere (see midway across the length of the box – just before the “Renaissance…” text logo on the side), split box lid edges in multiple places. Surface scratches, dents and other impressions, creases, additional smaller rips/tears in the cardboard and stains / discoloration, loss of finish present in a variety of areas. All chess pieces present – please see photo of opened box for reference. All pieces show some degree of visible wear, including surface scratches, scuffs, light dents and heavy discoloration of the white set of pieces. Pronounced yellowing present on a few of these pieces (particularly the bishop), less but nonetheless noticeable yellow discoloration on all other white pieces, darker brown stains present on surfaces, crevices and plastic mold seams. All pieces have the black felt pieces attached, however some felt circles show lighter spots / discoloration, some debris along outer edges. The cardboard insert is present but shows various creases and warping. Box lid interiors show a variety of spots and stains. The chess board itself shows a variety of brown stains in various locations, other discoloration of lighter surfaces.
