Description: listing includes:Small Vintage Elgin MUSICAL Alarm Clock Back of case is stamped: Bradley Time Division, Germany Age: 1946-1948 Alarm clock has a 30-hour movement. The clock movement is very high quality with thick heavy plates and a fine balance system, unlike the cheaper clocks you find today. The music box is also very high quality and all of the parts of metal and not plastic gears. I did not check either movement for a maker. All of the winding knobs and screws are original to the clock, and none are missing. The musical alarm plays "Oh, what a Beautiful Day" The rolled sheet brass case (not cast brass) has heavy tarnished patina. There is a very tiny dimple on the side of the case. The clock face is excellent. There is a small scratch on the plastic face cover. Both movements are working properly but could use a professional routine cleaning. Care: Never use WD-40 on any mechanical clock movements. Any cleaning, oiling or maintenance of vintage mechanical movements should be done by a professional only.
