Description: Vintage Eilat Stone Filigree Silver tone Necklace made in Israel. This necklace has a gold wash over a silver base metal of unknown material - not magnetic. This necklace is from the 1950's and displays 5 Eilat Stones with Faux glass pearls. The glass pearls are missing some of their pearlescent covering. One of the five large cabochon Eilat stones has a crack (The second one fronm the left) which doesn't effect its beauty. Two of the stones are stamped Made in Israel. The rare Eilat Stone (Hebrew: אבן אילת) is Israel's national stone, and is named after Israel's southernmost city. It was discovered centuries ago near the Red Sea in the copper mines of King Solomon. It is characterized by beautiful shades of green and blue: a heterogeneous mixture of several secondary copper minerals, including malachite, azurite, turquoise, pseudomalachite, and chrysocolla.
