Unless mentioned in the written description, the colors on my screen are the colors of the piece as I see it. Before making a purchase, you are accepting the fact that your device or computer screen may show a different color. For starters, I am not an amber expert. I relied on my research and confirmation from my local jeweler that the necklace was genuine amber. I was told that the screw clasp is more than likely plastic or some other substance. From what I have seen, most people call this Egg Yolk Amber, but some do call it Butterscotch as well, so I put both names in the listing. Please decide for yourself which name you prefer. I would call it egg yolk. The necklace appears to be hand knotted between each amber nugget. I have not cleaned or polished the necklace at all. I don’t know how to properly clean it and I don’t know if folks like the natural or patina look, so I am leaving this up to the discretion of the buyer. I have no idea if the way they look is in their natural state or if dirty or damaged. Please look closely to insure this is what you are looking for. To me they look like they are in their natural state, but again, I have no idea. I did attempt to try the salt water test after watching a few videos. I don’t think I was very successful in my testing as I wanted to use a larger bowl and probably didn’t use enough salt or let it sit long enough or whatever. I did try other pieces that day and I had mixed results of known amber pieces. So, in essence, I will need to watch more videos and practice with the correct amount of salt and water. Naturally, I have no idea how to date this necklace. It is clearly vintage, which to me is at least 20 years old, but I do not know if it is possible that it is antique.(100 years old) I do know that it arrived to me with a lot of jewelry from the late 1800s- the 40s. I am still weeding through the other estate pieces, but this was the only piece that didn’t need much research or testing so I thought I would just list it. If the dating matters to you, please do your own due diligence as I have no idea and can only speculate. Please carefully look over the images. I didn’t use any special lighting or filters. The video with the leopard background was taken in front of a window on a cloudy day in hopes to get fine details from natural light. Other images were taken inside under normal lighting as I find that with beads and jewelry, professional lighting often doesn’t show pieces in their true state and I am super picky and want you to know exactly what you are getting. It is not new or professionally cleaned and I have no idea where it has been before I received it.
