Description: For sale is a nice, vintage Riddell WD 1 football helmet. This helmet shell is a size large. It has the size indicator sticker on the back of the helmet that reads 7 3/8. At this point in this helmet's existence, I don't think that is correct...It's probably more about a 7 1/2, but it is difficult to tell. I can give you this indication, I wear a 7 1/2, and I just tried it on and it fit comfortably, so take that for whatever it is worth!!!The helmet shell is an impregnated white, but it has been painted black. There is quite a bit of adhesive from old decals. There is an old Riddell name plate on the back of the helmet, but the Riddell writing is completely gone. The padding is complete and in solid condition. It is all adult padding (it has the white backing that snaps into the helmet, gray backing is for youth shells.)The stamping inside the right ear is Q 7. Not sure where they are going with a Q, but the 7 means it was made in 1987. There are no jaw pads or chinstrap in this auction. Look at the pictures.
