Description: "Grietje" is a 10" beauty sculpted by Dianna Effner and issued by the Boneka for a UFDC Luncheon 2007. Subject of luncheon was Dutch culture so her outfit was inspired by the photograph of painting in photo #2. Grietje is meant to represent the young girl in Dutch artist Pieter de Hooch's masterpiece "Mother and Child in a Courtyard" of a House in Delft. The Boneka firm was founded by Rosemarie Ionker and the Netherlands is her home county. Ms. Ionker lavished detail on this doll The Boneka firm was founded by Rosemarie Ionker and the Netherlands is her home county. . Grietje is one of Dianna's very popular "Tuesday Sculpts." She has a light blond silky wig, very thick, that would be easy to style. Her eyes are a soft gray. Her costume accurately represents the one worn by the little girl in the painting and consists of a peasant blouse, tights, lace trimmed bloomers, a fine copper colored cotton lined skirt, a soft gray lined linen jacket, a batiste bonnet, a white batiste apron and ebony leather slippers. Though Grietje is dressed in this amazing costume, she would be easy to dress in contemporary clothes. These dolls make wonderful companions for Dianna's popular Darlings.
