Vintage Depression Glass Rosanna Glass Plate 8 3/8" Luncheon (Set of 8) Rare

Description: This is a set of 8 luncheon plates measuring 8 3/8" across in diameter. They are in excellent condition, no chips or cracks; just light scratches and I can feel some fleabite marks around some of the plates' edges. It is very hard to find this particular pattern, and especially a set of 8 in this condition. I believe these are from the Depression Era, or perhaps earlier. They feature a floral design with leaves, and a stippled background felt from underneath, with a smooth surface on top of the plate. They remind me of sandwich glass plates. I love to research the items that I come across; and I am no glass expert by any means. I find there are varying identifications for this item. I see that some have it listed as an Indiana Glass item, but I can not find it anywhere in their product line listings. Another source has identified these as from an unknown maker from the 1920s, and states that these plates are shown in the book Colored Glassware of the Depression Era Vol 2 by Hazel Marie Weatherman, and that Mrs. Weatherman named the pattern "Rosanna". I do not have that particular book in my possession, so I can not confirm. In addition, I also see these identified as flint glass; I am not sure one way or the other. I do see signs of what could be older glass in terms of tiny bubbles appearing, and I do have a photo of that. Each plate is also pretty heavy, at 1 lb .4 oz each. They also do have a nice "ring" to them. Again, I am no expert so I will leave the buyer to do their expert research. Nonetheless, these plates are beautiful and in wonderful, carefully kept condition given their age. Please see all pictures for condition and details.
