Description: VINTAGE COMPASS INDUSTRIES SURVIVAL KNIFE JAPAN 440 STAINLESS BLADE, C.I. Model #1150. Overall length 10", blade length 5 1/2", sawtooth 2 1/4" on top surface of blade. I acquired this knife w/ very crude improvised sheath from a man who was in the Army during the Vietnam Era, but never went overseas; he didn't remember where he got the knife, but must have obtained it second-hand. When I acquired it, the handle was partially wrapped w/ electrical tape, which I removed; it was also painted green, which I left as found, although some paint was on the tape as well. The butt/pommel unscrews to expose a 2 1/4" deep compartment in the handle for survival items (none found); watertight integrity is provided by an O-ring seal. I do not see any damage to the blade, but it may have been darkened for use in a hostile/tactical environment.
