Description: This vintage white, wicker child's rocking chair has a classic look, not too plain and not too fancy. While it is sturdy, it does not have a bulky appearance. The rocking chair is in good shape and ready for use. I have not seen any exactly like it on EBAY or elsewhere. The wicker is in very good condition, especially considering its age. I would estimate it to be from the 1930's to 1940's. The top surface of each rocker at the point where the rear legs affix, shows some evidence of what probably was some type of wood filler. It is apparent there was some "fixing" but is solid and painted over. As person who has restored furniture for over 25 years, I don't see it as problematic (see photo's 3,8,12 & 13). It measures 25 1/4 inches tall from the floor to the knobs on the chair back's top and 22 inches from one end of the rockers to the other. The width from the outside of the arms at the widest point is 15 3/4 inches. The width of the seat is 12 1/2 inches at the back to 13 3/4 inches at the front. The seat is 11 inches from the floor, making it easy for a young child to land on the seat. While intended for a child back in the day, it could certainly display a large doll{s} or favorite stuffed animal(s) by a doll collector. Once your child outgrows the rocking chair, their favorite dolls or stuffed animals could "use" it. This rocking chair would be a sweet prop for a lovely photo of your child and also be worthy of passing on to the next generation. We will ship this via UPS, while local pick-up is always an option.
