Description: This is a lovely Buren Grand Prix vintage watch, probably manufactured in the late 1950s. The case shows typical vintage use. The case has not been polished, just cleaned and left with a real vintage feel. A new crystal has been added as the original was heavily scratched and cracked. The movement has been stripped, cleaned and fully serviced. The watch keeps excellent time for a vintage watch of probably more than 70 years in age! The watch has a 34 mm case with 18 mm lugs. The watch has 15 jewels. The dial is a matt champagne colour with lovely gold numerals and a military style ring of seconds markers. The watch has gold hands with a red sweep seconds hand. The dial is marked “BUREN”, “GRAND PRIX”, “FAB. SUISSE”. The case back is stamped with the serial number 264203. The watch has a Buren BAA 480 movement. The ratchet wheel is stamped “GRAND PRIX BUREN”. The watch comes with a stunning new handmade tan leather strap (cost 60 GBP) with quick release spring bars. I will state the watch is not waterproof as I have not tested for this. A great watch for a discerning vintage watch collector!
