I can tell you a little bit of the history of the piece. This was from an estate where the owners lived all over the world. He was a missionary in the service for all of his military career. He lived in many countries and the family along with both of their parents were collectors. They had numerous collections of different items. I thought this was unique.the actual knocker does wiggle back and forth a little bit when you use the knocker part, but, it works fine. I have to be honest and that is I am absolutely no expert on this type of a product.
