Description: This is an ORIGINAL book, printed in 1915. The card stock cover is attached with string. The cover reads: "AUSTIN - Yesterday and Today...Compliments of The American National Bank." Inside, it is marked; "Copyright 1915 by PEARL CASHELL JACKSON." and "Press Of E.L. Steck, Austin." The first three-fourths of the book gives some general history of the city of Austin, Texas, beginning around 1838, and up to "present", which at the time of the writing, was 1915. The last fourth of the book is about The American National Bank - the company that sponsored and distributed the book, free of charge. Inside, there are several pictures of Austin buildings. (Be sure and check out the automobiles parked in front of the "New Austin Post Office"!) A few pictures show the luxurious interior of the American National Bank. Other photos show, and identify, important bank employees. The book measures 9 & 1/8 inches, by 6 inches. The overall condition is FAIR to GOOD. (Everyone grades a little differently. Please read the description, see the photos, and make your own grade.) The book is MOSTLY very nice. About the only significant flaws are at the BACK of the book, and do not affect any of the pictures or print. The BACK cover is split detached from the book, , but it is still held in place by the previous page. There is some insect damage on the edge of the last white page. (This page does not have any printing on either side.) Also, a section of the last green page has been cut off. (Likewise, this page has no writing on either side.) The REST of the book interior is clean. The book is still pretty nice. It is guaranteed to be old & original - printed over 100 years ago - or your money back.
