Description: Add a touch of handcrafted artistry to your kitchen with this vintage stoneware lidded bowl signed by Quyle Kilns and in like new condition. Nestled in the High Sierra foothills between Lake Tahoe and Yosemite, this California pottery has been creating beautiful work for more than 70 years. This wheel thrown pottery is beautiful as well as practical. Hand painted inside and out, its design features small blossoms in rich cornflower blue on a creamy white background. Four flower clusters adorn the slightly domed with lid, which is trimmed with a coordinating knob and a blue band near the rim. The well of the bowl surprises with a broad blue band encircling a single flower. The bowl’s rim and exterior are decorated with stripes in varying shades of blue, and light splashes of green add interest to the overall design. Measuring 6 1/2” in diameter, the casserole stands 4 1/2” tall with the lid and 3” tall without the lid. Weighing 2 pounds 7 ounces, it is a substantial and sturdy piece. The unglazed bottom is signed “Quyle Kilns” in hand-written script. This item is in mint condition. It has no chips, cracks, stains, scratches or crazing to mar its glossy or unglazed surfaces. It’s ready to add a touch of color and handmade artistry to your home, and it would make a great gift for a lover of vintage California pottery.
