Description: This is the very early composition Horseman doll that was produced to look like the German bisque Bye Lo baby. It is marked 1924 "E I H" on the back of the head. The body is cloth with composition hands and a speaker inside the torso. The eyes are metal, not scratched, they work but are snug. The head has a crack where the pieces were put together. There is wear on the face. It may have been played with but carefully since the cloth on the body is in pretty good condition. Frankly this is in good condition for being 100 years old and made from composition. The clothes with it were in the damaged old box it came in. The little sweater, booties, and cap is similar to the Bye Lo sweater but age has weakened the fibers and there are broken yarns. It is wearing an undershirt, diaper, slip, nightgown, and sweater set. The clothes are period appropriate and were probably used to dress it. There is also a nice little quilt blanket. Even though this is not a perfect doll it is a very very nice collectable example of that gendre that doesn't come up very often in decent condition. 62aa
