Description: Offering a handsome pair of mid-century cast metal gaited horse bookends, fresh to market from a local estate but so seldom seen. I believe they were made by Dodge but I'm not certain. Their composition started with a mixture of metal alloys and then they were electroplated with a thin layer of copper/bronze and stained, creating their deep bronze toned luster and strong visual appeal. Each bookend measures 4-1/2"L x 3-1/2"W x 7-3/4"T with a substantial weight of approx. 7 lbs. for the pair. They remain sound and in desirable, useful condition with no breaks and just have a few tiny and well-blending edge flakes to the plating as shown. Their finish has stood the test of time and has naturally mellowed into a deep and rich patina that's exquisite in person. The original felt is intact on both. This is my 25th year buying and selling on eBay. I aim to describe and picture my items through your eyes but know there may be things important to you of which I’m not aware. Since the desired character wear on antiques and vintage goods varies by person, please study my photos as an important part of my description and ask questions if further details are necessary. I’m only a message away and am always happy to help. Thanks a bunch for stopping by and for your consideration! PLEASE NOTE: I pack with utmost care and am happy to combine multiple purchases if they can be shipped together safely; feel free to message me with your zip code for a combined shipping rate.
