Description: Vintage Alebrijes Carved Copal Wood Giraffe. Hand carved and painted by Felix Ortega, a skilled Alebrijes artist from Oaxaca Mexico. Alebrijes are whimsical intricately painted carvings depicting animals, people, objects and imaginary creatures. They are made in small villages in the Southern Mexico State of Oaxaca. This giraffe is a one-of-a-kind piece of art, there is no other one that is exactly the same. It was painted green and has a bright yellow and orange flower pattern with purple, white and black accents. A fun and vibrant addition to any home. 9” long, 7” high and 2” wide, it is in good vintage condition. It has a few small chips and one ear and the tail have been repaired.
