Lamson in Shelburne Falls, Massachusetts in 1837. It is the oldest cutlery manufacturer in the US with well-known reputation in making premier knifes & knife sharpeners, kitchen tools and trade tools. It has many trade names including Lamson & Goodnow, Lamson, Lamsonsharp, Hoffritz,… Lamson products are still handcrafted in Massachusetts by American workers. This knife is produced with a Nogent-style process ( blade, bolster, and rat-tail tang are forged from a single piece of steel and fitted with a composite handle ). It has the blade hand forged from the fine carbon steel and tempered to achieve greater toughness providing the long-lasting keen edge cut-ability.
