Vintage 1990s Electro Voice PL80C dynamic cardioid microphone Lo Z w extras # 3

Description: Hello and welcome to the House of Chrome. You are looking at an obscure vintage 1990's era Electro Voice model PL-80C model dynamic cardioid microphone that comes with an original E.V mic clip, data sheet, new exterior pop filter and E.V vinyl mic pouch in which to store. I don't know much about this model as it's the third I have come across but I can say that it's a very high quality E.V product and sounds incredible. It has a beautiful smooth tome and would make for an ideal studio mic. Great for singing and broadcasting purposes. These PL-80 models seemed to have a short run of about 5 to 10 years before being discontinued. I know that PL stood for "Professional Line". Otherwise, I'm a bit clueless about the history of these. The PL-80 had a pastel light grey painted body to cut down on unwanted light glare which was and could be a problem with the satin chrome microphones. It's an all metal construction and very rugged as well as being lite weight so it's very easy to hold for prolonged periods of time. Pic # 2 shows this very model in a 1990's E.V catalog I have showing the mics basic specs. Pic # 3 is of the actual data sheet that you'll be receiving that has a ton of technical info on this mic. The PL-80C has a very unique and more aggressive stick mic design as you can see in the pics provided. The PL-80C is appx 7 1/2 inches long X 2 1/14 inches wide at the tip. The E.V PL-80 is also set at low impedance with a very strong signal as well so you really don't need any gain on this model and it's a "super cardioid" model so it picks up much less background noise. This PL-80A is American made with high quality control. Many of these older E.V mics from the 1980's and 90's are much better than the dynamic cardioid mics made today. As seen in the pics provided the painted body shows virtually no wear. Zero dents, fractures or corrosion. The E.V label is in very nice condition and completely legible. The front screens are very nice with no dents, odors or tarnish. The original inner pop filter is present and in perfect condition. This will greatly improve the sound characteristics of the mic and will be greatly appreciated. I'm also including a new exterior pop filter as well for added protection. The pop filter is fits like a glove and looks great on the mic. I also took the time to clean the XLR pins in the mic for a perfect signal once the cable is attached which helps a ton. I'd rate the true cosmetic condition a 10 + on a scale of 1 - 10. The microphone takes a standard XLR cable which is not included but these are easy enough to find. The Electro Voice model mic clip is included as well and was designed for this mic giving a good firm hold where it wont come off unless you loosen the side thumb screw. You can hang this mic upside down from a boom arm with complete confidence that it won't slide out and fall. Mic clip shows extremely lite cosmetic wear and it works perfectly. It will screw onto any desk or floor stand you have. The mic also includes it's original E.V mic carrying case and it's in very nice condition. The zipper works excellent as well. You got everything you need to go live except for the cable. If you want something a little different with a lot of character and excellent performance...this PL-80C will do the trick.
