Description: Vintage 1977 Fokker DR-1 Triplane Kite Kit #1101 by Squadron Kites (Stratton Air Engineering) of Los Angeles, California. Four-feet wingspan kit with all materials including instructions and insignia paper, as shown in photos, still in its original box which has been sealed since 1978 and opened today (3/12/2024) just for inspection. All materials appear to be in good order. This kite was purchased by me from the Smithsonian Institution on May 8th, 1978. The outside shipping carton is postmarked May 12, 1978, and I no doubt received it shortly after that. It was never opened, but just stored away, and moved with me when I moved to different houses.
