Description: This is a 1970s Kaywoodie Drinkless shape 114 tobacco pipe. Initially believed was a 1930s however learned they transitioned to the 3 digit pipe shape code in 1974. This is a 114 (old digit 80B) denoting medium apple, flat top. This pipe was in decent shape when received. The briar needed a good polish and wax coat. The top of the bowl had to be sanded down and dyed to match the pipe and polished to match. The inside of the bowl was sanded down to the bare briar to inspect for any damage or cracks, none noted. The stem needed a bit of work. The heavy oxidation was removed, heat was applied to remove the deep teeth chatter. It was then sanded down with 220 and finished with micro polishing up to 12,000 grit. Finished on the polishing wheel and coat of obsidian oil applied to help prevent oxidation. This is a truly beautiful pipe and is ready to be smoked. Please examine the photos so you know what you are buying and please ask if you have any additional questions.
