Description: Hello and welcome to The House of Chrome. You are looking at a unique 1970's era Electro Voice 671 model dynamic cardioid microphone that comes with the 6 inch Atlas GN-6 gooseneck, Shure S37A desk stand and short cable shown. It should be noted right away that this microphone has been tested and has a dead element. This should be used for display, prop or repair purposes only. If you feel like replacing the element in this 671 mic then you'll have a fine working set up. You'll see in pic # 2 the 671A model with the basic characteristics. I'm not sure what the exact difference was between the 671 & 671A. It seems that E.V was changing the model numbers on these 1970's models frequently. This 671 was a quality mic with a nice smooth tone when working properly but again, this is currently non-working. has a very nice tone and quite strong too...100% output. The "cardioid" element had excellent uni-directional capabilities as well. As you can see in the pictures provided this mic is in very nice cosmetic condition with virtually no wear. The satin chrome finish is free of dents, fractures, scratches or pitting. The mesh grill looks new with zero deformation, odors or discoloration and a new inner foam liner / pop filter was installed as the original was all but gone helping greatly with sound characteristics. The on / off switch slides smooth and works without issue. The mic has a small locking mechanism to the side of the switch as well if you want to keep the switch in the permanent on position. Mic is solid with no loose or missing parts. The mic is attached to an equally nice Atlas GN-6 gooseneck that gives you flexibility and a bit of height to work with. The GN-6 is attached to the nice Shure S37A desk stand that provides a very stable platform for this set up. The mic stand shows very lite wear on the original painted finish. It has zero dents or corrosion and the 4 rubber pads are in very nice shape. The mic has the short cable that exits down the gooseneck and through the stand. It has the female XLR end connector that is properly wired in case you ever get the mic element replaced. The mic with GN-6 and stand is appx 16 inches tall when raised fully upright but the mic can be lowered as well. If you need a nice award for somebody retiring in the radio industry or just a nice prop piece to display anywhere in the house, studio or office this 671 will make a fine piece. As with all my other vintage microphones... I can promise you will be happy with it for the price paid. If not...I have a no hassle return policy.
