Description: This gown is one of my very favorites in my vintage gown collection. Originally, this was a sample dress from a bridal shop in the 1970’s. The style, however, is reminiscent of the gowns that were worn in the 1920s This high waisted style dress is made of silk organza (good guess) over satin. The shoulder area is encased in a capelet that starts from the scoop neck line and flows gently to the elbow. This capelet is simply and delicately enhanced with carefully placed lace motifs The lace motifs continue along the hem which dips down in the back to show a small train. The organza over skirt stops several inches from the floor revealing the satin under dress which goes full length to the floor. ... thus making it easy to alter to a shorter length This dress has been laundered and ironed and is free of odor. It does have unfortunately a small defect hole by the shoulder… About a quarter inch. The Bust measures 33" inches and the high waist seam line measurement is 26". I consider this dress extra small. It measures 55” from shoulder to front hem. Because of the beauty and simplicity of the design this gown is priced to sell at $65. If it were not for the small hole at the shoulder, this gown would be priced higher.
