Description: This beautiful vintage Ludwig snare drum is a 1964 Jazz Festival model, 5"x14" in red sparkle. Functionally and cosmetically it is in excellent shape. The wrap looks great, the chrome has some blemishes consistent with age but can be easily cleaned up if you so desired. This snare has the rare and desirable WFL Classic Strainer and it works perfectly. It is a pleasure to use with a snappy spring mechanism. Original baseball bat style tone control knob (muffler) with red felt. The snare wires are not original obviously but if you're in the know, these Puresound snare wires are the choice of professional drummers everywhere. I played this drum for years in groups ranging from big band, small group jazz, and louder amplified settings. It sounds fantastic and gives that classic vintage tone that is so hard to find in modern drums.
