You are looking at a unique Shure Brother's 430 "Commando" model microphone manufactured during the 1960's when America was knee deep in Vietnam. The aggressive mic was supposed to be excellent at withstanding conditions that were not generally ideal such as heat and humidity and was a great general purposes microphone. Mic comes with aftermarket stand and mic clip shown. Pic # 2 is from an old 1968 catalog showing this mics basic specs and price. It should be noted right away that while the mic does still work...the signal strength is only around 50% so this is being sold as a display, prop or repair mic only. It will make a great conversation piece due to it's nice physical condition however. The 430 mic was originally intended to be a general purpose mic that was rugged and utilized the controlled magnetic element. These mics just happen to make excellent harp mics when working properly but this is an exception as I find that most of these mics no longer work...or just barely. Physically speaking this mic is very nice having a beautiful satin chrome handle and plastic green cartridge. The cartridge shows just a few lite scratches and scuff marks. Zero fractures however. The handle shows no wear. The Shure logo looks very nice as well. The front screen is free of any dents or tarnish. I'd rate the mic a true 8 + on a scale of 1 - 10. There is an aftermarket Shure style mic clip that works great for this mic having a firm grip on the handle and it has a wide degree of tilt up and down. MICROPHONE STAND SHOWN IS PART OF THIS SALE... The stand is actually a newer Chinese model. It's a plastic and metal & plastic design with flat black paint that has a cool older deco vibe that compliments the mic nicely. The stand is basically brand new with almost zero physical wear. The stand itself is appx 5 1/2 inches tall X 4 1/2 inches wide. There's enough weight in the stand to keep the mic from falling over no matter how low the mic is tilted. Total height with mic and stand when mic is raised fully upright is 13 inches. As with all my vintage microphones... I can promise you will be happy with it for the price paid.
