Description: CHEERS! For Your Consideration: Vintage 1960s Joseph Schlitz Brewing Company Bar Cash Register Light. This FANTASTIC EXAMPLE of Brewing and Advertising Americana measures approximately 7" Wide x 2" High. Schlitz Beer and Brewing got its start in 1848 in a Milwaukee, Wisconsin, tavern brewery owned by August Krug. In 1850, Krug hired Joseph Schlitz as a bookkeeper, and, subsequently, Joseph Schlitz took over operations as Brewery Manager when August Krug died in 1856. Though the ubiquitous Schlitz Brand lives on in the portfolio of the Pabst Brewing Company, The Schlitz Brewing Company was, at one juncture, the LARGEST PRODUCER of Beer in the United States. The Light is in Working Order though there are Condition Issues. The LIGHT/SIGN itself is in FAIR CONDITION, but the Stem was Detached from the Base (please see photos - but was repaired), the Adhesive Strips on the Bottom of the Base (though covered with Original Peel Back) are 'dried', and the Transformer has spots of Rust and Wear (*NOTE: The Transformer reads, 'ROBERTSON TRANSFORMER CO. 4W 125AMP BLUE ISLAND, ILL. MADE IN U.S.A.'. Despite the aforementioned, the Light Maintains that Vintage Essence that IS Schlitz, and may make the PERFECT ADDITION to your Schlitz or Breweriana Collection. Please see photos for BEST description, and feel free to message me with any questions. Thank you for looking, and Happy eBaying.
