Click image to enlarge Description Up for auction is a Vintage “Hoppe’s Lubricating Oil” Advertising Tin! This lubricating oil was “Excellent for firearms, fishing reels, all delicate mechanisms, all household uses” and sold by Frank A. Hoppe Div. Penguin Industries, Inc. in Parkesburg, Pennsylvania back in the 1960s! The tin has great vintage advertising graphics featuring a bullseye on its front and back. This is a 3 oz. metal (tin) oil can measuring about 4⅛” tall x 2¼” wide x ⅞” deep (overall 5⅛” tall to top of cap). As shown in the photos, this vintage container is in very good condition for its age with nice bright colors and sharp details. It has a little surface wear, including a few small marks, light scuffs or scratches, and possibly a small dent or ding that you would expect for such an old tin container. The top and bottom of the tin oil can are still mostly shiny with some light surface oxidation. There is a small crack in the red top cap that is in place on its white plastic spout. The tin is empty but may still have a little residual oil inside. This vintage Hoppe’s Lubricating Oil advertising tin oil can would make a great addition to your collection!
