Description: This is the 9th edition of Emily Post's "Etiquette- The Blue Book of Social Usage. 671 pgs. In reasonably good shape, but there are several small tears in the binding/ cover. Mostly on side and back . I have tried to show this in the photos. There is no dust cover. There is also a name signed just inside cover. No torn or missing pages, that I can see. Also some smudging, especially on back cover. The book has some illustrations and photos. Which only emphasized that boy I am really not up to snuff :-) (Also note bookmark included, regarding The Personality of a House. Some interesting information on this too.) Still, I have to say this is a fascinating look at life in the 50s. Being an old farm girl from Southwestern North Dakota, I found some of this just bordering on the hilarious. I am all for good manners, but this stuff could totally take up your whole life. Who has time? Some topics that jumped out to me: afternoon teas without dancing, order of going down the theater aisle, French words which we all have to pronounce, half introduction of a domestic employee, etc etc. Wow. Again please see photos. Feel free to contact me with any questions. Please note I try to be as clear as possible regarding my descriptions. Also note that a portion is being donated to charity.
