Description: Vintage 1950s Lionel Automatic Gatekeeper with Gatehouse Part #145-17 Click images to enlarge Description This is an original 1950s automatic Lionel model railroad accessory. It is a tin painted building with a plastic man (gatekeeper). The wiring has never been modified. The small wires connect through the building to just under the plastic removable roof as shown. See photo no 5 - bottom corner. A small piece was connected to the wires (not included) and would connect to the track. This piece or part supplied electrical current. When the train passed this station, the man would walk out the door and swing his lantern, then go back inside as the train passed. There is a small light inside on the ceiling that still has a small bulb in it's socket. It does have a Lionel part number 145-17. Size is about 7" x 5-1/4" x 4-1/4". This Lionel accessory does not come with a box. Shipping Items paid for late in the day, may not be packed for shipping until the next business day/evening, and leave the following day.
