Description: For sale is a 1950s Hohner President tenor saxophone, with serial number 58xx. Hohner, a renowned German company best known for its harmonicas and accordions, also produced saxophones of exceptional quality under the expert supervision of Max Keilwerth, brother of the famed Julius Keilwerth. This tenor produces a powerful 1950s German sound with a slightly darker timbre than modern horns, making it ideal for classic jazz. The saxophone has recently undergone thorough servicing, which included straightening rods, keys, and posts; tightening, aligning, and adjusting the keys; and replacing 3 upper and 4 lower pads. Cosmetically, it is in good condition, with some scratches, small dings, and notable lacquer loss around the neck tenon. The neck tenon screw is missing, but this does not affect playability, as the neck fits snugly with no leaks. A Protec case in great condition is included.
